One of the first steps in tuning EFI is calibrating the fuel injector flow rate and dead time. Connect the injector to the fuel rail, pump and regulator at standard operating pressure (typically 3.5 bar / 350kPa).

Injectors do not open instantaneously. The opening dead time (typically 0.5ms to 3.5ms) must be subtracted to determine net fuel delivery across pulse widths.
