Equipment commonly used includes vehicle data loggers (for measurement of individual vehicle drive characteristics), portable chassis dynamometers (for measurement of vehicle power, fuel consumption and emissions using any drive cycle) and even mobile fuel consumption and emissions measurement systems for measuring vehicle emissions while operating on the road (aka PEMS: Portable Emissions Measurement System) services. We are often called upon to analyze specific transportation sectors, taking on-the-ground measurements, while working with local government and private parties in order to get a complete picture of how the vehicles are used, and how they affect the overall transportation scenario. This is frequently used to develop government Standards and Testing, Vehicle Type Approval (VTA) and Registration systems, as well as road usage and licensing regulations.
