CONSULTATION SERVICES
This system was developed for long term reliability testing of fuel injection throttle bodies and the throttle position sensors (TPS). A vertically mounted gear head motor drives an off centerr crank pin, which in turn drive a puller disk via a bearing. The puller disk pulls one throttle cable open, while the opposed throttle body is closing, effectively counteracinting the force of the first throttle body. This system requires very little power (only 6 watts), and performs 20,000 cycle per day. A small DAQ Module records the throttle positions for logging and any errors are flagged. Throttle sticking, wear and TPS sensor failures are the most commom detected by this system.
Leveraging off of our wide industrial and academic experiences, we recieve many requests for custom systems, help with designing instrumentation systems, engine design help, tester development and etc. We are actively involved in providing such consulting services with complete confidentially or we may help design a custom system for a client and then go on to produce a commercial version of it.
ICAM attended a seminar on "Electronic Fuel Injection" we gave at UMP. We're currently scheduling another on Dynamometry and Engine Testing
Dr. Horizon of Focus recently spent a week working with University Malaysia Pahang (UMP) Automotive Engineering Center (AEC). During the visit we spent a lot of time tuning up their existing dynamometers and solving various problems (eg. Wire chafing, software and test procedures). In the end we got their dyno's working with execellent repeatability. Focus presented a seminar on "Electronic Fuel Injection Systems" including extensive live demonstrations. This was attended by faculty and staff of ICAM (International College of Automotive Technology), who requested further seminars in the near future. Finally we met several industrial partners inculding Horstman (UK) and DRB-Hicom to discuss collaboration on industrial projects. DRB expressed keen interest in working together for HR capacity building as well as problem solving with their various vendors. All in the AEC said it was very successful visit!Wire Craffing on Dyno Power Line | Chassis Dyno Result |
